Oak Creek Ranch School’s Summer School Sessions are all about experiential education. For instance, living in a culturally and historically diverse area as Northern Arizona, Ms. Bradley knew how much her world history students would benefit outside of the classroom. Last week, students visited prehistoric sites. Students visited Montezuma Castle to examine cliff dwellings of the Anasazi and V-V Ranch to learn about petroglyphs etched into a rock face by the ancestors of the Hopi people more than 1000 years ago. Textbooks become supplemental material in an area as rich in educational opportunities as OCRS.
