Oak Creek Ranch School offers teens the opportunity to compete in Basketball, Soccer, Girls Volleyball, Flag Football, Softball and Golf. We believe it is important to provide every student with the option of playing and competing, regardless of aptitude or skill level. Sometimes, we discover that students have not been able to participate in competitive sports at former schools due to the size of the student body, degree of competitiveness or academic requirements. When these students are given the chance to compete, their enthusiasm and drive to excel returns. They become contributing members of the team.
||By participating in athletics at OCRS, teens learn the importance of teamwork, commitment, discipline, hard work, sportsmanship and having fun! Win or lose, each game provides an opportunity for students to develop positive character traits that will serve them throughout their lifetimes. Our coaches expect all team members to maintain honesty, integrity, compassion for others, loyalty, responsibility and honor as they practice and compete.
As a member of the state-wide Community Sports Conference, our teams play in a league consisting of thirty two schools that compete in eight sports, annually. OCRS teams have won their share of championship trophies. Some of these awards include three state championships and two second place finishes in football; one state championship in basketball; three north division championships, two state titles, one second and one third place finish in softball; two fifth place finishes in volleyball and two individual state champions in golf. In previous years, we have also competed in swimming and cross country events. Our coaches are also dedicated and spirited participants in all our games. They encourage, correct and recognize both team and individual accomplishments.
In addition to these programs, students may choose to participate in weight training, skateboarding, swimming and tennis. Our facilities include a lap pool, lighted tennis and basketball courts, a weight room and playing fields that accommodate soccer, baseball, football and volleyball. Students who enroll in golf practice on nearby public courses including Verde Santa Fe Golf Course, Sedona Country Club and The Village of Oak Creek Golf Club.
